For a few years now, our family has been working to reduce waste at home. Our hope is to have a ripple effect in Scarborough, which is why we have started building a party kit that families can borrow for their parties (birthday and others). The kit has drop-safe plates, forks, cups, and napkins. It also includes some party decorations that you can reuse and that are very pretty.
We hope you will give it a try for your parties! ☺️
What the kit contains:
48 plastic plates
20 large coffee cups (adult)
20 large aluminum drinking cups (kids or adults)
Cloth napkins
Metal Cutlery Set
Tea spoons
Small forks
Knifes
Serving tools
1 4-litre jar for limonades (see picture below)
1 jug
For birthdays:
Party tablecloth
Candles
Important notes:
Please clean what has been used (all items are dishwasher safe).
This is a $10 cleaning service fee, which is appreciated if you don't have time to do it yourself.
The kit has been used 10 times (Jan 2025) so far and needs to be used 200 times to be more sustainable than single-use plastics.
The kit is available on the day of the event, after 11 am, at the intersection of Warden and Lawrence, and must be returned the following day before 10 am.
